OPI Gel Manicure

I am the kind of girl that if I have even the slightest chip on my nail polish I will immediately take my nail polish off of all my nails and re-do them. I had been hearing great things about gel polish about how long they lasted without chipping and that they had a great color selection.

So today as I was running errands I noticed that my nails were chipped so I decided to give the gel polish a try. I went to a salon where I had heard great reviews for a gel polish manicure and they were so friendly and I didn't have to wait in line although they were pretty busy. The process was just as long as a normal manicure (1 hour) the difference is that between each coat they put your hand under an LED light to cure the polish, they did mine for 45 seconds. So first they prep the nails then by numerical order 1. Base coat 2.LED light 3. Color polish 4. LED light 5. Second coat of Color polish 6. LED light 7. Top coat 8. LED light. I decided on the color Pompeii Purple which is not very purple it's more like pink with light glitter of purple and blue and I could not be happier. I will do an update to see how long they truly last without chipping.

Trying New Beauty Products

I am long over due for a Sephora Trip and these are the products that I am thinking of buying. Before I go to Sephora I see the new products that they have or what products have good reviews. I was using the cover girl volume lash mascara for a long time, but one day I went to Sephora and fell in love with Benefits They’re Real Mascara and have been purchasing it ever since.

Although I love that mascara and it's a must have, I want to try this urban decay mascara because it has such great reviews and everything that I have bought from urban decay always has such great quality that I cant resist not getting it. This Dior Lip glow has been on my mind for a while and now that I see it everywhere I need to give it a try. I have dark circles I’m pretty sure it has to do with my sleep routine or lack of but like I said urban decay and benefit have great products and these two seem to have great ratings so I will try them out I have a Laura Mercier concealer and love it ! but I like to try new things. I have wavy hair and I have always taken great care of it, I don’t dye it and I have stopped straightening it and I use heat protectant when I use the blow dryer. I have been meaning to try the Wen by Chaz Dean for a very long time, I believe since July when I saw it in an infomercial so I would love to finally try it out.

Nails

For me doing my nails is therapeutic, the first two photos are designs that I have worn. I like natural nude colors for days where I know that I am not going to be able to fix any chips right away. For the second photo I have done a similar look except I had a light pink glitter from OPI and instead of red the top color I wore was a darker pink from Essie. I have started trying making designs and I have yet to perfect them but the two bottom photos are great designs that can be worn for spring or summer. 

Hair

I love my brunette hair, and I have natural wavy curly hair but I have it straightened because I find that I like that style better for me. These hairstyles are straight but have a different tone of brunette and in different lengths. Not every style is perfect for each face shape and not every brunette color is made for someone’s skin tone it all depends of your skins undertone. I hope you like them.

Messy Ponytail

I have been having a hard time keeping my hair down, I find it easier to put it up and not have to worry about it as I work around the house or as I am running errands. These ponytails are messy but they still have the look of being precisely styled. I have been trying this on my sisters but have yet to perfect it but I am very close.

Something that is great and easy to try is a dramatic eye; it’s easy to stay with a same look when doing your makeup. But trying these looks will give you a great change for the New Year even adding a cat eye to your normal eye make up can add a great change like Keira Knightley without spending to much time or money on new clothes. You can do a subtle Smokey eye like Ashley Olsen or like Nicole Richie use darker eye shadow whether it be grey, navy blue or black.

My September Favorites

These are the products that I have been using throughout September; the first one is the St. Ives apricot scrub. Now, I have always been very careful with face scrubs because sometimes they can be very harsh and can irritate my skin so I decided to buy the travel size first to give it a try. It seemed like the right thing to do; now I decided to use it while on my vacation to Spain. I had a fifty - fifty chance that my face would react to it and all my photos would come out with my face irritated but it was marvelous and I haven’t stopped using it since. It’s not harsh on my skin and I have very sensitive skin, its leaves it feeling clean and fresh. The second product is the Sugar Lip Treatment; I am in love with this product. Since I got it I cant seem to stop using it. I don’t find myself reapplying it as often as I would my ChapStick because it does not wear off as easily. I also really like my tinted Sugar Lip Treatment but I gravitate more towards the clear color for my everyday routine.

The next two products are not beauty products, but they have helped me so much for school. I am a bit (how can I say this without sounding like a freak) particular about note taking. I like my notes to be color coordinated, and when I am studying you can find my books filled with many different colors that match to the color that I have for that specific section of my notes. The different colors help me file sections within a chapter, so I can find what I am looking for a lot faster. This was so helpful for me while taking my History, Political Science, Health, English, Art and my Psychology classes. During class I would write with one color (either black or blue) because it would be impossible to switch colored pens while the teacher was giving out the lecture. Once I got home I would re-write my notes with the colored pens, and that also helped because I was studying and remembering what I had learned for that class. When I would read my books, I would use the markers to underline anything of importance with the same color of the pen for that section. For me repetition helps me remember things easier so I was able to memorize information better this way for tests.

Estos son los productos que he estado usando durante Septiembre, el primero es el matorral St. Ives albaricoque.  Siempre he sido muy cuidadoso con matorrales para la cara porque a veces pueden ser muy fuertes y pueden irritar mi piel, así que decidí comprar el mas pequeño para ver si funcionaba. Decidí a darle una oportunidad, mientras que estaba en mis vacaciones en España. Tenía una cincuenta - cincuenta posibilidad de que mi cara iba a reaccionar a el producto y todas mis fotos saldrían con mi cara irritada, pero fui maravilloso y no he dejado de usar St. Ives desde entonces. No es fuerte en mi piel y tengo la piel muy sensible, deja una sensación limpia y fresca. El segundo producto es el tratamiento de labios Sugar, yo estoy enamorada de este producto. Desde que lo tengo me parece que no puede dejar de usarlo. No me encuentro a mí mismo que volver a aplicar regularmente como lo haría para mi ChapStick porque no desaparece tan fácilmente. También me gusta mucho mi tratamiento tintado Sugar Lip pero gravito más hacia el color claro para mi rutina diaria.

Los siguientes dos productos no son productos de belleza, pero me han ayudado mucho en la escuela. Yo soy un poco (¿cómo puedo decir esto sin sonar rara) particular sobre mi toma de notas. Me gusta que mis notas estén coordinadas por color, y cuando estoy estudiando podrás encontrar mis libros llenos de muchos colores diferentes que coinciden con el color que tengo de esa sección específica de mis notas. Los diferentes colores ayudan a presentar secciones dentro de un capítulo, para que pueda encontrar lo que estoy buscando mucho más rápido. Esto era tan útil para mí mientras tome mis clases de Historia, Ciencias Políticas, Salud, Inglés, Arte y Psicología. Durante la clase que escribía con un solo color (negro o azul), ya que sería imposible cambiar de plumas mientras el profesor estaba dando la clase. Una vez cuando llego a mi casa me vuelvo a escribir mis notas con los plumones  de colores, y eso también ayuda porque estoy estudiando y recordando lo que había aprendido en esa clase. Cuando leía mis libros, me gustaba utilizar los marcadores para subrayar algo importante con el mismo color de la pluma de esa sección. Para mí la repetición me ayuda a recordar las cosas más fáciles, así que era capaz de memorizar información mejor así para los exámenes.
